Ratchet Chain Tensioner

Working principle

The core of the ratchet chain tensioner is a combination of three mechanical principles: ratchet one-way locking, lever effort saving, and positive and negative thread pull. It is used to firmly tighten the chain and fix heavy objects, and is widely used in scenarios such as truck bundling, equipment tensioning, and chain fixing.

1.Core Basic Structure

The ratchet chain tensioner mainly consists of a central spindle with a double-sided threaded shaft, a ratchet gear + anti-reverse pawl to prevent backlash, a long, labor-saving handle, and high-strength lifting hooks at both ends.

2.Tightening Process

First, secure the chain to the fixed points using the hooks at both ends, and manually pre-tighten the chain to allow for some slack. Move the handle back and forth; the pawl engages the ratchet, driving the main shaft to rotate in one direction. Simultaneously, the reverse thread retracts the pull rod, continuously tightening the chain and increasing the tension. When the handle returns to its original position, the pawl automatically locks the ratchet, preventing the main shaft from reversing or the tension from rebounding and loosening.

3.Unlocking Principle

During disassembly, move the safety lever to completely separate the anti-lock pawl from the ratchet, directly releasing the lock. The main shaft can rotate freely, the tension dissipates quickly, and the components at both ends automatically open, allowing the hook to be easily removed.
