Shackles

Product Introduction 

Shackles are a type of lifting rigging. Common specifications mainly include two categories: bow shackles and D-type shackles. They are usually used to connect cables, chains or ropes in construction, industry, shipping, lifting and many other applications. When selecting a shackle, attention should be paid to the safety factor, which generally includes 4 times, 6 times and 8 times. When using a shackle, the rated load must be strictly observed. Excessively frequent use and overloading are not allowed.

Precautions for Use

1.Load Matching: Select a shackle of appropriate specifications according to the operating load. Overloading is strictly prohibited (the rated load is usually marked on the shackle body, which must match the actual load).

2.Inspection and Maintenance: Before use, check whether the shackle body has cracks, deformation or wear, and whether the pin is loose or the thread is intact. If any damage is found, replace it immediately; do not continue to use it after repair.

3.Correct installation: Ensure that the pin shaft is fully inserted into the body hole and firmly fixed with a nut or split pin. The direction of force application should be consistent with the axis of the shackle body to avoid lateral force (which can easily cause deformation or breakage of the shackle).

4.Environmental Adaptation:If in corrosive environments such as seaside areas and chemical plants, stainless steel shackles should be selected; in high-temperature environments, they made of high-temperature resistant materials must be used to prevent a reduction in material strength

5.Regular Scrap: They are consumables. Over time, their performance degrades due to fatigue, wear, and tear. They must be replaced regularly based on usage frequency and wear extent, with strict prohibition on using expired ones.
